Pokemon at SCHOOL? WORK? THE MALL?

 

  • What game did you play?

    The video game I played today is Pokemon Go which is moblie game that tracks your movement with AR. Pokemon Go is location based moblie game which make its fun and really moviates me to go out whether it be the mall, park, or when I have to run errands. The gamplay is kind of simple which requires you to walk for a bit and random pokemon will pop out to be ready to be captured. To catch these pokemon you have to click on them and given pokeballs to throw at the pokemon to catch it and once you're successful it'll be yours and resigetered on the Pokédex. Overall this moblie game actually makes you into Pokemon trainer and movitaes to go out and meet other people who are also playing. 



  • What game genre does your game fall into?

Pokemon Go falls under into at least 4 genres which are RPG, Adventure, Fitness, and Location-based. While also Pokemon Go has multiplayer as well since you can join other players who are doing raids and community days or you can also fight or trade with other players. 

  • Research this game online and describe its community of players. Who plays this type of game?

The type of players that play Pokemon GO are mostly everyone since the games wants to try appeal people who haven't heard or play pokemon before but also appealing to the fanbase who have playing and watching Pokemon. Since the community of the game as an icebreaker for people that can connect with each other with different diverse groups of people and all ages. In addition, the the community culture of the players are supportive, wholesome, helpful, social, and having a nostalgia driven acts with Pokemon Go since this games convinces you to be active and social with other players. 

  • Where did you play the game (mobile or computer or game platform)?

I played this game on my iPhone and I went to the park and to couple stores while playing as well. 

  • How many times did you play?

I play Pokemon Go at least everyday but I also play with my little brother so it makes more convincing and motivating to go out and play the moblie game with him. We also join the community events that a local Pokemon ambassador will host for game or raid days of a certain we want to have as normal or shiny. 

  • Describe what you did/did not like about the game. 

I generally like most things of the game with how it is and the types of activies you can do in the game but on the other hand the things I don't like it how they handle with their legendary Pokemon and the events that in person and locations that get them first. Since the way they handle with their legendart Pokemon is that a certain one won't come back for a good awhile whether it be a few months or a few years to come back into the game for raids or you have to use certain items to catch one but its like one time thing. Furthermore, the events that the company is only exclusive to certain locations in the world like for example in the U.S. the locations that mostly get these events are New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago will get the event will everyelse in the U.S will get it at a later date. 

  • Are you a regular player?

Yes, I'm a regular player since I'm part of one of the teams in the game which is Team Moltres and Pokemon have a Pokemon Pass which is a battle pass that allows the player to earn more rewards and pokemon. 

  • Will you play again?

I'll always be playing this moblie game whenever I get the chance or If I'm out and about. Since the moblie always have spotlight pokemon and events every month to keep player engage into the game.

  • What social media aspects are woven into the game you played? Provide at least one (1) specific example of how social media or a social media platform is integrated into the game.

An social media aspects that are woven into the game is allowing the players to share photos the Pokemon that the player has captured and to show off on social media to other players

The Marias In the Desert!

 Hello first time writing a blog! For my first blog I would like to about my favorite band ever since 2017 which are called  THE MARIAS!!!!!! Rosetta? Who is That?

 Woah! This Ted Talk was so interesting about this stone called the Rosetta.  Since the Rosetta Stone was discovered in 1799 by the French military becasue they invaded Egypt and was casually just sitting on the outskirts of Rashid. On the stone it had three different sections of text which included Hieroglyphics, Demotic, and Greek and it took awhile to cipher these sections of the Rosetta Stone. Furthermore, these texts were basically from oldest to newest onto the Rosetta Stone with the Hieroglyphics being the oldest on the Stone and it clearly shows Civilization had knowledge and language was changing.  Then later on in 1802 when the English received the Rosetta Stone it was on display but soon after there was three decoders that help to decode the Stone and there names were Thomas Young, Johan Åkerblad, and Jean-Francois Champollen.
