Rosetta? Who is That?

Woah! This Ted Talk was so interesting about this stone called the Rosetta.

Since the Rosetta Stone was discovered in 1799 by the French military becasue they invaded Egypt and was casually just sitting on the outskirts of Rashid. On the stone it had three different sections of text which included Hieroglyphics, Demotic, and Greek and it took awhile to cipher these sections of the Rosetta Stone. Furthermore, these texts were basically from oldest to newest onto the Rosetta Stone with the Hieroglyphics being the oldest on the Stone and it clearly shows Civilization had knowledge and language was changing.

Then later on in 1802 when the English received the Rosetta Stone it was on display but soon after there was three decoders that help to decode the Stone and there names were Thomas Young, Johan Åkerblad, and Jean-Francois Champollen. While they were decoding the Stone it was interesting to me since each of the sections of the stone were different. Like for example, the Greek section had name of royal figures, Demotic had bracket-like forms, and then Hieroglyphics were encircled; subsequently this was interesting to know about the Stone. Since I've found enlightening that the Egyptians were so knowledgeable about creating the Rosetta Stone with different ancient languages to record their history.

During this whole video, it was so awesome to learn about the people who able to decipher the Rosetta Stone and how each section of the Stone was different languages to read. Along with this is how the Egyptians were able to record their history for each generation of the world and now we are able to deciper it and are able to read and learn from the ancient records of the Rosetta Stone.

Honestly, I think you should watch this video to learn about the significance of the Rosetta Stone since it was a key to learn about the ancient history and culture of the Egyptians that was forgotten.
